Vaka Tautua Delivering Services During Lockdown

Vaka Tautua Manukau staff happy to be serving our Pacific families and communities during the lock down (note the "physical distancing!").

Vaka Tautua will continue to deliver services and support to Pacific peoples and communities during the four week COVID-19 Alert 4 Lockdown period, which starts on 26 March 2020. The organisation is considered “essential services” under the Government’s COVID classifications because of the health and social services it delivers; and the communities it serves, specifically people with disabilities, older peoples and those experiencing mental illness.

Vaka Tautua will, however, be delivering its services and support remotely and virtually using technology to protect its service users and staff. Most engagements will be done via telephone and virtual means like FaceTIme, Videocall and Zoom. Face-to-face sessions will only take place in special cases, with staff following the COVID-19 safety guidelines.

"While we are changing the way in which we are delivering our services and support to our Pacific families and communities, we are committed to delivering excellent services that meet their needs, and helps them through these uncertain times," said Vaka Tautua Chief Executive Officer, Dr Amanda-Lanuola Dunlop.

Vaka Tautua offices in Manukau, Henderson, Porirua and Christchurch will be closed during the four-week lockdown period, with staff working remotely.

Staff can be reached by calling FREEPHONE 0800 825 282 or by email: Administration@vakatautua.co.nz
